David Arcauz, CFA

Managing Partner

Based in Geneva, David leads European investments, and is a member of the Global and European Investment Committees. Prior to joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in September 2016, David worked six years as a Partner for Adams Street Partners in London, where he made investments in growth and buyout funds in Europe and served on several advisory boards. He was also involved in serving existing and new clients, especially in German speaking countries. Before that, David spent five years at UBS Global Wealth Management within the private equity team in Zurich, London and New York. He previously worked five years at Swiss Life Private Equity Partners in Zürich and was a founding member of its spin-off Alpha Associates. David began his career as a credit analyst at Banque Cantonale Vaudoise in Lausanne and then worked as a corporate finance consultant for KPMG in Zürich.

David holds a Master of Law from Université de Lausanne, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Eric Deram

Managing Partner

Based in Geneva, Eric leads the overall strategic development of Flexstone Partners. He serves on the European Audit Committee, the Global and European Investment Committees, and the Compensation Committee. He founded Euro Private Equity in 2005, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners. Previously, he was the Director of DB Capital Venture Partners, the European Venture Capital arm of Deutsche Bank in London and Dubaï. Prior to that, Eric was an investment executive at CSFB Private Equity in London, where he worked primarily on pan-European Buyouts investment opportunities. Earlier, he worked in structured finance at BNP Paribas in Sao Paulo, Paris and New York, specializing in leveraged buyouts, mezzanine debt and investments in private equity funds.

Eric earned his MBA at Harvard Business School and his BS in finance at Neoma (France).

He currently sits on the advisory board of several private equity funds and is a past board member of several private and publicly traded companies, as well as not for profit organizations.

Nitin Gupta

Managing Partner

Based in New York, he leads US investments, and is a member of the Global and US Investment Committees.

Nitin joined Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2008. Prior to Caspian, he was a Principal at Westbury Partners, where he was responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and serving on the board of portfolio companies. Prior to Westbury Partners, Nitin was a Senior Associate at Saunders Karp & Megrue, where he was responsible for due diligence, with a particular focus on healthcare and retail investments. Prior to Saunders Karp & Megrue, he was an Associate at McCown De Leeuw & Company, where he was responsible for due diligence and, buy and build strategy across a number of industries including business services, industrial, and manufacturing. Prior to McCown DeLeeuw & Company, Nitin was an analyst in the M&A group at Merrill Lynch & Company where he completed a number of buy-side transactions for certain Fortune 500 companies.

Nitin Gupta earned his BS at New York University and MBA at Harvard Business School.

He serves as a Board member/observer for several portfolio companies of funds managed by Flexstone Partners.

Benoît Jacquin, CFA

Managing Partner

Based in New York, he is responsible for managing investor relations and fundraising activities, and is a member of the US Audit Committee.

Benoît is a founding Partner of Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners. Prior and concurrent to that, he served from 2000 to 2012 as a Director in charge of Investor Relations at Caspian Capital Management (“CCM”). Prior to joining CCM, Benoît was Vice President, Relationship Manager at CDC Investment Management Corporation. Prior to CDC Investment Management Corporation, he was a business analyst at Caisse des dépôts et consignations (Caisse des depots Group).

Benoît Jacquin holds a post-graduate degree (DESS) in Econometrics and a post-graduate degree (DEA) in History from the University of Paris-Sorbonne, and is a CFA Charterholder.

He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.

Benoit de Kerleau

Managing Partner

Based in Paris, he serves on the European Audit Committee and the Global and European Investment Committees. Before joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, he was the managing partner of Dahlia Partners, the European fund of funds and advisory arm of Natixis Private Equity in Paris. Previously, Benoit was an Investment Director at BNP Paribas Private Equity. Prior to that he worked for eight years with PAI Partners, the leading leverage buyout firm in continental Europe, where he was involved in funds structuring and fund raising, portfolio monitoring and participated in a number of leverage buyout transactions across Europe. He started his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen.

Benoit graduated from HEC (Paris) with a Master in Finance. He sits on the advisory board of several European private equity funds.

Satyan Malhotra

Managing Partner

Based in New York, he works on the firm’s day-to-day operations, business development and new product offerings. He serves on the US Audit Committee, the Global and US Investment Committees, and the Compensation Committee.

Satyan is a founding Partner of Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners. Prior and concurrent to that, until January 2012, he served as President of Caspian Capital Management (“CCM”) that managed as much as $2.2Bn of alternative assets including fixed income portfolios & quantitative trading strategies. CCM also provided non-discretionary consulting on as much as $3Bn in structured products on funds of hedge fund programs. Prior to joining CCM in 2002, Satyan was a Senior Manager with the Global Risk Management Solutions consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In that capacity, he worked with major financial institutions, corporations and treasuries on a variety of risk management, portfolio and strategic initiatives.

Satyan Malhotra holds a CIBE from Columbia Business School, an MBA in Finance from Virginia Tech, a BA in Economics (Honors) from the University of Delhi and a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

He serves on various company boards and has authored several research pieces on investments.

Senior Vice President, Investments

Based in Paris, Rudy focuses on primary and direct investments in Europe and participates in secondary transactions. Prior to joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in January 2016, he was a Senior Consultant in Transaction Services for EY (formerly Ernst & Young), in the Financial Services division where he worked on financial due diligence acquisitions and valuation assignments for banks, insurance companies as well as asset managers. Previously, Rudy was an analyst for Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking, in Structured Finance, then in Private Equity for Société Générale Capital Partenaires.

Rudy holds a Master from ESSEC Management School and Paris-Dauphine University. He serves as an Advisory Board member for several European private equity funds.

Anatoli joined Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2013. Prior to joining Caspian, he has held various private equity analyst positions at Roc Resources, LLC, Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and The Burgiss Group from 2009 to 2013.

Anatoli Gavrilov holds a BS in Economics from University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria, and a MBA in Finance from Rutgers University.

He serves as a Board member/observer for several portfolio companies of funds managed by Flexstone Partners.

Jimmy Hsu, CFA

Managing Director, Investments

Based in Singapore, he leads the Singapore office, and is a member of the Asian Investment Committee.

Jimmy was a founding member of Eagle Asia Partners, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, where he was responsible for the overall strategic direction, investment strategy and deal sourcing functions. Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at TIF Ventures Pte. Ltd. Prior to TIF Ventures, he held senior management positions at GIC Special Investments Pte Ltd, serving in the US, Europe and Asia. While at GIC, he co-managed the TIF fund with NSTB. Jimmy has also held positions at the Singapore Economic Development Board and British Petroleum earlier.

Jimmy Hsu was a Colombo Plan Scholar and has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada. He also holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore. He is a CFA Charterholder.

Based in Paris, she is responsible for supporting the European investment teams in all aspects of the investment process.

Sinem joined Flexstone Partners in 2019. Prior to joining the company, she worked as an intern in the Investment Team for Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners. Previously, she was an Analyst in Transaction Services for BM&A.

Sinem Kaplan holds a Master of Business Management from EDHEC Business School.

Based in Singapore, she is responsible for the investment execution and the portfolio management of the Asia team’s investments, including fund valuation and reporting matters. She is a member of the Asian Investment Committee.

Lay Hong was a founding member of Eagle Asia Partners, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners. Previously, she was a Senior Vice President and a member of the Investment Approval Committee at TIF Ventures where she headed up the Portfolio Management team and the US (East Coast) and Healthcare investments team, where she served in a couple of investor advisory boards of funds invested by TIF Ventures. Prior to TIF Ventures, Lay Hong held senior management positions at the Singapore National Science and Technology Board and the Information Technology Institute.

Lay Hong Lee holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the National University of Singapore, majoring in Computer Science and Information Systems.

Based in New York, he is responsible for supporting the US direct investment and fund investment teams in all aspects of the investment process.

David joined Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2011. Prior to Caspian, he was a Senior Associate at Continental Entertainment Capital, where he focused on sourcing investments and advising on capital raising in the media industry. Prior to Continental Entertainment Capital, David was a Director at Drum Capital Management, where he focused on distressed debt and turnaround opportunities, both domestic and in emerging markets. Prior to Drum Capital Management, he was an Associate at Bassini Playfair & Associates, LLC, where he focused on private equity and credit opportunities in Latin America.

David Marcus holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BA Economics from Franklin & Marshall College.

He serves as a board observer for several portfolio companies of funds managed by Flexstone Partners.

Clément Riviere

Senior Vice President, Investments

Based in Paris, Clément focuses on primary and direct investments in Europe and participates in secondary transactions, as well. Prior to joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2014, he was an analyst for Croissance Partenaires, a Paris based M&A boutique, focusing on small and mid-cap transactions. Previously, he was a financial controller for Ardian, within the co-investment funds’ finance team.

Clément holds a Master of Corporate Finance from Reims Management School, as well as a Master degree of Business Law from Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV University. He serves as an Advisory Board member for several European private equity funds.

Zélie Saint-Zéby

Based in Geneva, Zelie is a member of the European Investment Committee. She covers all aspects of primary and direct investments in Europe, and participates in secondary transactions as well. Prior to joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, Zélie worked for Deutsche Bank Asset Management in Switzerland. Previously, she was an analyst for Société Générale in the Financial Sponsor Coverage department based in London. Zélie was in charge of fund analysis and she was involved in private equity deal origination.

Zélie holds a Master from ESCP-EAP and a Master from Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris. She serves as an Advisory Board member for several European private equity funds.

Sheryl Schwartz

Managing Director, Investments

Based in New York, she serves as the US lead investment professional for primary and secondary fund investments and is a member of the US Investment Committee.

Sheryl joined Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in June 2013. Prior to joining Caspian, she was a Managing Director at Perseus Finance in New York from June 2010 to April 2013, where she was one of the partners responsible for fundraising, sourcing, evaluating and making direct mezzanine and structured equity investments. Prior to Perseus Finance, Sheryl worked at Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA-CREF) from 1988 to 2010. There, from 1997 to 2010, she was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager of TIAA-CREF’s Alternative Investment team, where she established TIAA-CREF as a significant investor in alternative investments with over $13 billion of initial commitments, building a diversified, global portfolio across a wide array of investment strategies.

Sheryl Schwartz holds a BS in Finance and Management and a MBA in Finance from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

She serves on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity, Inc. (WAVE), on the Advisory Boards of Palico and Peracs, and as an Advisory Board member for several private equity funds. Sheryl was one of “Six of Private Equity’s Most Influential Female Gatekeepers” in an August 29, 2017 WSJ article.

Based in Singapore, he leads Asian investments, and is a member of the Asian Investment Committee.

Kit Jong was a founding member of Eagle Asia Partners, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, where he was responsible for the investment strategy and activities, including deal sourcing, due diligence and investment execution. Previously, he worked at TIF Ventures as its Chief Operating Officer and Head of Asia and Europe Investments. He also served as the Chairman of the Deal Clearance Committee and sat on the advisory boards of several private equity funds. Prior to TIF Ventures, Kit Jong held senior management positions at the Singapore National Science & Technology Board and Hewlett Packard Singapore.

Kit Jong Tan holds both Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Engineering from the National University of Singapore, and also attended the Stanford-NUS Executive Programme.

Naim Weydert

Associate, Investments

Based in Geneva, Naim is responsible for supporting the European direct investment, primary and secondary fund investment teams in all aspects of the investment process.

Prior to joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2016, Naim was a portfolio manager for BPI France Investment, where he was in charge of managing the cash flows and the valuation process, and setting up investors’ reports. Previously he was an analyst in private equity for CNP Assurances.

Naim holds a Master 2 degree of economy and financial engineering from Paris-Dauphine University.

Based in Paris, Caroline is responsible for managing investor relations and fundraising activities in Europe, and contributes to the development and marketing the firm’s global offering. Prior to joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, Caroline spent 5 years with Omnes Capital (ex Crédit Agricole Private Equity) where she focused on the marketing and investor relations functions dedicated to the mid-market buyout funds. Previously, she worked for Amundi Asset Management in the International marketing and sales department, and was in charge of funds distributions for Institutional clients.

Aurélie Maillard

Vice President, Investor Relations and Business Development

Based in Geneva, Aurélie addresses investor queries and requests, maintains investor presentations, diligence materials, and participates in the fundraising process. She also coordinates the investor reporting and valuation processes. Prior to joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, Aurélie worked as a Private Banker at Private Bank 1818 (Natixis group) and was in charge of the development of wealth management for regional banks.

Aurélie holds a Master degree from the EM Lyon, a Master degree in civil law from Lyon III University, as well as a Master degree in business law from UPEC and a Bachelor degree in law from Sheffield Hallam University (United Kingdom).

Based in New York, she addresses investor requirements, queries and requests, maintains investor presentations, diligence materials and analytics, and investor reporting, and she participates in the fundraising process.

Prior to this role, Natalie was Manager, Tax, responsible for filings, compliance and reporting related to US taxes. Prior to joining Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2009, Natalie was an associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.

Based in Paris, Alexandre is responsible for supporting accounting and reporting functions of private equity funds and mandates. Prior to joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2016, Alexandre worked for QBE Insurance as an accountant in charge of technical accounting, treasury management, participation in monthly closings, quarterly reporting and audit records. Previously, he worked as an accountant for the Alpha group.

Alexandre Desloges holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics / Management and a Master's Degree in Control, Accounting and Auditing from the University of Paris XI.

Executive Director, Operations

Based in Singapore, she is responsible for financial reporting on the Asian operations.

Ivy was a founding member Eagle Asia Partners, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, where she was an Executive Director, overseeing and working with the administrator for accounting, operations, compliance, legal and tax regulations. Previously, she served as Vice President, Finance and Corporate Services at TIF Ventures,where she led the Finance team in the areas of accounting, tax and fund reporting. Ivy Omar has been in this business of private equity financial reporting since 1997 and has been instrumental in setting up fund companies, monitoring tax regulations and audit. Prior to TIF Ventures, Ivy Omar worked at the National Science and Technology Board, an audit firm as well as a publicly listed company.

Ivy Omar holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from the National University of Singapore.

She is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore, Fellow Membership of CPA Australia and Professional Member of the International Compliance Association.

Based in New York, he is responsible for overseeing accounting and reporting functions of private equity and real estate funds.

Mehul joined Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2013. Prior to joining Caspian, he was Vice President at Morgan Stanley in their Investment Management group managing multi-billion dollar private equity funds. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mehul was at Citibank as a Vice President working on various Buyout, Mezzanine, Fund of Funds and Employee Plan Private Equity Funds. Prior to Citibank, he was at Credit Suisse, New York, working in their private equity customized fund investment group.

Mehul Vadher holds an MBA from New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mumbai University, India.

Based in New York, she is responsible for providing legal support to the US investment team.

Virginie joined Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2005. Directly before joining Caspian, she was Project Manager and Legal Manager at Caspian Capital Management from 2003. From 1995 to 2000, Virginie was an attorney tax manager at EY Law in Paris, France, where she advised multinationals on tax and corporate matters.

Virginie Cochard-Robinson holds an LL.M. in Taxation and an Advanced Business Certificate in Law and Business from New York University School of Law and New York University Stern School of Business, a Post-graduate degree in Business, Banking & Finance Law from University of Paris II, Paris, France and a post-graduate degree in International Tax Law from University of Paris XI-HEC, Paris, France.

She is a member of the New York State Bar.

Joyce joined Flexstone Partners in 2019. Prior to joined Flexstone Partners, she has held a position of Legal Counsel in a company providing a collaborative platform for private label management and she was an intern in several law firms.

She holds a Master in Law from Pantheon-Assas and a specialized Master’s in Business Law from Paris-Dauphine University.

Ruby joined Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2013. Prior to joining Caspian she was an Assistant/Bookkeeper at Knickerbocker Village Inc. from 2008 and before that an Executive Assistant to the Assistant Commissioner of Legal, New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.

Maria El Khomsi-Bahi

Director, Chief Compliance Officer Europe

Based in Paris, she is responsible for establishing standards, implementing procedures and providing every day action towards ensuring that the European compliance programs are effective in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with regulations, internal compliance guidelines and applicable compliance standards. She is also responsible for establishing a risk management framework for supervision.

Prior to joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2014, Maria spent 5 years at Natixis Asset Management Finance (“NAM Finance”) in the Risk & Compliance department, were she worked on compliance, risk management and permanent control missions. Previously, she has been a Senior Risk Manager at Natixis Asset Management, a predecessor of Ostrum Asset Management - were she was specialized on structured products (CDO, ABS etc.) - and at Ixis Asset Management (Equities, Bonds etc.), were she also began her career as a research manager for the Data Pricing and Management Services department.

Maria El Khomsi-Bahi holds a post-graduate degree (DESS) in Bank & Finance from Ecole Supérieure des affaires de Lille, as well as a master in International Economy and Currency from Toulouse Capitole University.

In 2007, she was distinguished as the winner PRM Focus Award of Distinction 2007 (Top score in mathematics).

Based in New York, he is responsible for establishing standards, implementing procedures and providing every day action towards ensuring that the US compliance programs are effective in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with regulations, internal compliance guidelines and applicable compliance standards.

Paul-Marc joined Flexstone Partners, LLC, with over 15 years of audit, risk management and compliance experience, most recently at Natixis North America, LLC, where he was a Director in the Compliance Department. He previously was Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Risk Officer at Seventure Partners (private equity firm affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers), Chief Compliance Officer at Ossiam, affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers developing and managing Exchange Traded Funds, and was part of the BPCE Group Audit (Inspection Générale).

Paul-Marc Lachaud holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from Kent State University and an MS in Management from the University Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV, and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

Sacia Belgacemi

Associate, Corporate

Based in Paris, Sacia is responsible for corporate accounting and reporting. Prior to that role, she was responsible for supporting accounting and reporting functions of private equity funds. Before joining Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2015, Sacia was an accounting assistant at the Maupard Trustee accounting firm, as such, she managed the day-to-day operations and the cash, payment and tax transactions accounting. She worked also on operations for clients’ portfolios.

Sacia holds a diploma in Accounting and Operations Management from Campus Montsouris.

Sylvie Bondurand

Office Manager

Based in Paris, Sylvie is responsible for providing administrative support to Senior Management and managing the firm’s daily office and organizational needs. Prior to join Euro Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, Sylvie was an office manager at Natixis Private Equity International Management and at Dahlia Partners.

Sylvie studied foreign languages at the Oriental Languages Institute (INALCO-Paris)

Administrative Assistant

Based in Geneva, she is responsible for providing administrative support to Senior Management and managing the firm’s daily office and organizational needs.

Sophie joined Flexstone Partners in 2019. Prior to that, she was Fund Specialist at Bank Lombard Odier & Co Ltd, Geneva, providing clients with a wide range of services in regards to funds trading.

Sophie Motos holds a Commercial Diploma from ESC André-Chavanne, Geneva, and an Executive Assistant Diploma from IFAGE, Geneva, as well as a Certificate in Advanced English from University of Cambridge.

Controller

Based in New York, she is responsible for Corporate Accounting, and Human Resources.

Kristin joined Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2008. Prior and concurrent to that, Ms. Olney was Manager, Accounting at Caspian Capital Management (“CCM”) from 2000 to 2012. Prior to CCM she was at Dumont Investments, Inc.

Kristin Olney holds a BA, Denison University.

Office Manager

Based in New York, she is responsible for providing administrative support and managing the firm’s daily office and organizational needs.

Prior to joining Caspian Private Equity, a predecessor to Flexstone Partners, in 2018, Irene was with Tribor Management, Inc. for 10 years and has extensive knowledge in property management related field.

Irene Tai holds a BA in English from Queens College (2012).
